Dancing in a Tent
I’m not one to let opportunities pass me by and as soon I heard that the Darlington BID team we’re going to bring a Spiegeltent to the Market Square I was on it!
If you’ve never heard of a Spiegeltent they are spectacular. I first came across them when at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and I saw a show inside one. Spiegeltents are large travelling tents made of wood and canvas and are decorated with mirrors. To say that they are magical is an understatement. Many of them are also made with a central dance floor making them perfect spaces for a dance. So that is exactly what I pitched to them… a dance .. and a dance we had!
With the date set, I called a local band (who are also great friends) The Ragtime Rewinds, contacted another local dancer to DJ and spread the word.
